Citywide Garage Sale

The City of Taylor will again offer two Citywide Garage Sale periods in 2023. The first will be from May 26-June 4, and the second from August 18-27. Each of these periods will enable participants to have two full weekends of garage sales, should weather be a problem during one of the weekends. No permit is required to hold your garage sale during these dates only.

Happy Soles 5K Walk/Run/Bike & Virtual Challenge

This is an in-person or virtual competition to benefit the Downriver Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry. In-person registration at 7 a.m. at the Sheridan Open Air Pavilion. Details at happysoles5k@flcfp.org.

Regular Meeting of City Council

Music and Art in the Gardens- Week 1: Major Dudes, a Steely Dan Tribute Band

Music & Art in the Gardens, the Taylor Conservatory & Botanical Gardens’ popular Wednesday evening concert series, will return this summer with eight dates starting June 7. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. at the conservatory, located at 22314 Northline Road, just east of the Heritage Park Petting Farm. Tickets are $5 at the gate with no pre-registration required. Season passes are available (as well as concert sponsorships). Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended. The conservatory is always seeking fine artists to display their work and food truck vendors to support the series. The season kicks off with one of the concert series’ most popular acts, Major Dudes, a Steely Dan Tribute Band. The group was named the Detroit Music Awards tribute band winners in 2018, 2020 and 2022. They have been playing across Michigan since 2015.

The regular meetings of the Taylor City Council are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. They can be viewed on live stream on this website and are cablecast live on WOW and Comcast cable channels. Recreation Commission meeting

Regular meetings of the Recreation Commission shall be held monthly and are tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Recreation Center on the fourth Thursday of each month. To confirm any meeting, contact the City Clerk's Office.
